Sometimes I can be a little bit too tidy. I like to open a drawer and see everything in its rightful place. It’s a good job my husband loves me, because I have been known to alphabetise our herb rack before now. It’s sad, … Continue reading

This week I performed some house wife geekery… I made my own Jam.
I know, I know – I’m a bit sad. But at our bread making class on Wednesday evening I made a milk roll and apparently it’s perfect with Jam. We didn’t have any jam… We did however have some strawberries and blackberries that were about past their best. Jam is a great way to use up squishy fruit – we’ve got to try and be thrifty these days with how expensive food is!
It was SO much easier than I thought it would be. I was lucky that I had a thermometer from last years toffee apple escapades… It’s worth investing in a thermometer for these sorts of things. Although if you don’t have one you can use the drip test… see below!
I’ll tell you all about the delights of the milk roll soon too.
Seriously have a go… use up that fruit in the fridge and reuse/recycle a little jam jar.
Happy Jamming!
